U11 to U18 playing Rules

2023 Kyle Henneberry Memorial Playing Rules

First game of the day will start at the time noted on schedule, all other games may start up to 15 minutes early. 

Team are asked to vacate the dressing rooms within 20 minutes of the end of their game.

3 minute warm up on ice prior to stary of each game

3 x 12 minute periods stop time

30 seconds between periods, goalies are to go directly to the net and not the benches between periods

if a team is ahead by 7 goals  at the start of or during the third period, the period will be played under straight time with no stop clock.

There are NO time outs in the round robin.

Games may end in a tie. 2 pts for a win, 1 Pts for a tie, Zero for a loss,

At the conclusion of the game each team will line up on their respective blue lines for the player of the game awards. Handshake line will take place after awards. Game officials have the right to suspend handshakes after the game.

TIE BREAKER FORMAT

Kyle Henneberry Memorial tie breaker rewards defense play. The goal is a competitive tournament free of running up the score, therefore, the tie breaks are as follows:

Least Goals against overall

Least Goals against between tied teams

Head to Head game against tied teams if applicable. 

Lease Penalty Minutes.

We go through the list until all ties are broken. 

Semi Final and Championship Game

Games will start at the time listed unless there are delays, tournament staff will relay this to coaches.

3x12 Minute Stop Time periods

30 Seconds between periods

each team recieves ONE (1) 30 Second Time out per game. Can be used in Overtime.

OVER TIME

ONE (1) 5 Minute Stop Time Period 3 skaters and One Goalie on ice (3x3) Golden Goal

If no winner the we will proceed to a 3 person shoot out. Visiting team will shoot first. Goalies must stay in there net during the shootout.

If no winner after the first 3 shooters, it will be One for One shots until a winner is declared. No player may shoot twice until all players have taken a shot, Goalies are not permitted to shoot.  

If a player is penaltized during the Overtime and the penalty has not been fully served, that player cannot take part in the shootout and must remain in the penalty box until the shootout is completed.
